we have 14 adults and 23 children attend christmas day, so we have secret santa for the adults 50.00 max and then a seperate secret santa for the children 20.00 max. that was nobody misses out. We still buy a little something from our daughter to give to her grandparents but normally this way we have a reasonably priced christmas, without anyone getting offended.

depends on your finacial situation….if you have it spend it…..we can’t afford to buy for everyone i have 7 sibilings and one of them has a kid….we do a name drawling and buy for that person….with my husbands family we only buy for the kids cuz there are too many on his side too….we usually only spend $10 on the kids and when we do a drawling the limit is $20 for adults and $10 for kids…..your not being cheap, it gets expensive and besides it’s the thought that counts.

We are a middle class, working family. I’d say my mom spends $20 on on set of grandparents, $20 on my uncles and aunts (so, like, $10 for each). Then for the kids she spends anywhere from $20-40.

We don’t spend anything on the adults in our families save for our parents. I have 9 nieces and nephews and a 10th one on the way so on top of them and my own 3 children to buy for we decided that we don’t buy for anyone except the children as we feel that Christmas is for the children. If you feel obligated to get them something offer to watch your nieces/nephews for them while they go out by themselves for a night. Trust me that would be a dream come true or even keep them overnight so they have some alone time. Just a suggestion but that is something I know we long for and would love to have someone do for us. I think that you need to explain that you have priorities to the younger ones in the family first. Hope this helps you and hope you have a great Christmas!

When it is a close loved one the thought put into the gift is more important than the amount you spend make it personal and its worth will far exceed the dollar value. Corny but true
