You can reuse it every year and I feel it carries the memories from each Christmas we had. That including the ornaments. Im 17 and it was the tree we used since I was born. It even still has all the ornaments that I made when I was little and that my siblings did too. And not to mention, its cheaper and better for the environment. I don’t think I ever want a real tree because it would be sad. there were so many memories with the fake one. So in truth, the fake one is more truer and real than the actual real tree if that makes sense. What do you think?
Don’t you have special memories with your fake tree.
Tear….No one cares about their tree. Might as well just hang the ornaments on a coat rack.
Doesn’t at least one person in your house get allergies.
Maybe because Im just a city person. We don’t have tree farms.
My tree isn’t flammable. Is yours?
Have A Blessed Yule: Nature is a major part of your religion? Isn’t it a major part of most people’s religions since it is God’s creation. I don’t really think you needed to mention that part though since we can all assume you are Christian if you celebrate Christmas.

I’d say I have memories with the ornaments, not the tree.

I remember setting up the artificial tree each year, but I also cherish the memory of cutting down the real tree & strapping it to the car with my dad one year.

A fake christmas tree can have any value you believe it to have. I have a fake christmas tree with ornaments I had as a child. I am 16 and I still love it. Just make sure it is meaning full to you.

We have had a fake tree for decades – because of allergies – but I still have very fond memories of the real ones before that. The ornaments are the same each year – either way so the memories are in the ornaments for me no the tree.
When I was little we always put our Christmas tree out side and tied it to the cloths Line pole for the rest of the winter so the birds had a safe place to roost near the bird feeder. The it was recycled.
The plastic one that I now use year after year will take up space in the landfill when it gets broken down. – because alas nothing is forever.

yes… and it saves trees, and energy. with a real tree you have to water it and the odor gets to you and with a plastic tree it is more enjoyable because you dont have to worry about it and yes it could involve more memories.

I have memories of the ornaments that we made in kindergarten and first grade. The tree, I don’t care about. We used a real tree one year and it was such a hassle that my mom used the fake one every year after that. Once we got into college, my mom stopped putting the tree up all together.

WE have never had a fake tree, never. While it may be good for the environment, the tree doesn’t hold the memories for me.

It is the time we take together to pick out the perfect tree, putting on all the ornaments from years past, and I am reminded of the wonderful smell of Christmas everytime I open my front door. That great smell of pine.

Since you grew up with a fake tree, I understand your sentiments, but it isn’t the same for everyone.

Mine has all the ornaments that my children make me and in fact all the ornaments I made growing up, so the real one has the same meaning to me.

Yes and I agree but many don’t. The real tree, feels and smells like the woods and adds a great atmosphere to any home. It also can be quite expensive and time consuming and wasteful. But, again, we buy it, it puts money in someones pockets it gives people jobs and most trees that are used this way, were grown for that purpose.

Well first, christmas trees are grown specifically for christmas so they do not effect the environment in any way.

There are pros and cons with fake vs live and its up to the individual. I grew up with a fake tree and never got excited about pulling it out of a box. Now that we actually go out and pick a real one out, there is much more excitement and it creates memories with my children. It has become a part of our month long celebration (we don’t celebrate just one day, but we also celebrate more than one holiday this month). Part of this is also personality. I love the smell of a real tree in my home, brings me closer to nature (a major part of my religion).

So really, there is no wrong or right. Only what is right for you. If that tree makes you happy then you should stick with it and enjoy it.

**Why assume I am christian? Christmas is celebrated by people of alot of faiths. I am pagan, which is nature based not deity based. The traditions with christmas are pagan in nature. Your intent is christian and mine is not, that is the only difference with your celebration and mine.**
